EYFS Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our warm and nurturing Early Years team. Could that be you?

Working closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team, you will help create a stimulating, safe and engaging environment where every child can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role
Contract type: Two Day a week (8:30am-3:45pm) Â between Monday to Friday
Salary: Dependent on experience
Start date: September 2026
As our EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual learning goals. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that the pupil is fully included in classroom activities and receives the support needed to flourish within the Early Years setting.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the classroom, supporting learning through play, encouraging positive relationships and helping to create a happy and engaging environment for all children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis within the EYFS classroom.
- Assisting with the delivery of engaging learning activities and play-based experiences.
- Promoting pupils’ social, emotional and communication development.
- Supporting the implementation of individual learning and support strategies.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Assisting with classroom organisation, resources and daily routines.
- Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive pupil engagement, including playground supervision where required.
The ideal candidate should:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children within an Early Years setting (desirable).
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s development and learning.
- Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- The confidence to act as a positive role model and encourage children to reach their full potential.
