About the Role
Contract type: Two Day a week (8:30am-3:45pm) between Monday to Friday

As our Music and Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that foster creativity, performance skills and self-confidence across the Prep School. You will create exciting opportunities for pupils to develop their musical and dramatic abilities whilst encouraging participation, collaboration and a love of the performing arts.
This role would suit a passionate educator who can bring energy, enthusiasm and innovation to the curriculum whilst making a positive contribution to the wider life of the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging Music and Drama lessons across the Prep School.
- Developing pupils’ musical, dramatic and performance skills through creative and inspiring teaching.
- Preparing pupils for performances, assemblies, productions and school events.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Encouraging participation, confidence and teamwork through performing arts activities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider curriculum and school community.
- Upholding the school’s high standards of teaching, learning, safeguarding and pastoral care.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, although experienced specialist practitioners will also be considered.
- Experience teaching Music and/or Drama within a primary or preparatory school setting.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, would be highly desirable.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for the performing arts.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and engage pupils of all abilities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A creative, positive and collaborative approach to teaching and school life.
- A genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ personal and creative development.
